Purple Day for Epilepsy In Newfoundland and Labrador

March 26 - Purple Day was an idea that began in 2008 with Cassidy, a nine-year-old girl in Nova Scotia who has epilepsy. She decided that there should be one special day each year so that people with seizures wouldn't feel so alone. Since lavender is the internationally recognized colour for epilepsy, she decided to call it Purple Day, and held it on March 26. She started with her school. Then, her town got involved. Then other cities, and other provinces, and countries. In two short years, Purple Day for Epilepsy has grown into a worldwide event! On March 26, people all over the world will wear their purple proudly to let everyone who lives with seizures know that they are not alone. All because of a little girl who wanted to make people feel included. Join with us! On March 26 wear purple and spread the word about Epilepsy. Contact Epilepsy Newfoundland and Labrador - 1-866-EPILEPSY.
