Lost

Lost on Aug. 14 at Woolfrey’s Pond a kayak spray skirt. It is black neoprene in colour. The words Snap Dragon is written on it. If found please contact Dirk at 535-0517.

LOON BAY

Loon Bay Day

Sept. 4 - Loon Bay Day will be held at the Recreation Building starting at 12 p.m. There will be games of chance, food, bake sale and lots of fun. Everyone welcome.

Checkpoints

Effective immediately and until Sept. 30, 2010, the RCMP Detachments from Carmanville, Fogo, Lewisporte and Twillingate will continue to conduct checkpoints in their detachment areas as well as joint checkpoints. If you want to report an impaired driver call your nearest RCMP Detachment or call 1-800-709-RCMP. If possible provide the plate number and description of the vehicle and the identity of the driver.

TWILLINGATE

Special Presentation

Sept. 1 - A special program will be held at the Twillingate Church Museum at 2:30 p.m. to present officially a new public address system in memory of the late James Gillett formerly of Durrell. The presentation will be made by his three sisters Joan, Marguerite and Greta. Entertainment by local youth will be featured. Friends and members of the public are invited. No charge.
