Rug Hooking Guild

Kinderstart
Lewisporte Academy will be having a meeting for all parents of children registered for the Kinderstart Program on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. in the school library.
Seniors In Motion
The Wellness Coalition Program will be held on Wednesdays from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Salvation Army auditorium, Lewisporte. Adults 55+ (men and women) are welcome. No registration fee. The program will run from October 2011 – May 2012.
Salvation Army
The Salvation Army, Lewisporte are hosting a 10-week program called Baby Song until Nov. 23. Baby song combines music, singing and fellowship for parents and children ages 0-4 years. Sessions are every Wednesday from 1:30 – 3 p.m. For more info contact Lorelei Cole at 535-2504(w) or 535-0350(h).
The Salvation Army Christmas Hampers
Applications will be received Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Nov 15 to Dec. 8. All applications must apply in person. Proof of income and expenses will be required.
Fall Bazaar
Nov. 19 – The United Church Women Fall Bazaar will have a bake, craft and preserve sale, mystery parcels starting at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew’s United Church auditorium.

A red youth size bicycle was found in the woods near Spruce Avenue in Lewisporte. To claim the bicycle, the owner will be required to describe the bicycle and any unique characteristics as required. The bicycle is currently being held at the Lewisporte RCMP.

Campbellton Trotters

Checkpoints
Effective immediately and until Nov. 30 the RCMP Detachments from Carmanville, Fogo, Lewisporte and Twillingate will continue to conduct checkpoints in their detachment areas as well as joint checkpoints. If you want to report an impaired driver call your nearest RCMP Detachment or call 1-800-709-RCMP. If possible provide the plate number and description of the vehicle and the identity of the driver.
