"Lighten Up" Weigh In Group
A weekly weight loss support group will be held each Thursday at the Lewisporte Stadium from 6-7 p.m. Weekly weigh ins, information and guest speakers. Free of charge and confidential. Everyone is welcome!! Central Health Lewisporte, Health Promotion Team has partnered with the Town of Lewisporte.
Baby Song Program
The Salvation Army Lewisporte are hosting a 10-week (started Feb. 1 - April 4) Baby Song program. Baby Song combines music, singing and fellowship for parents and children ages 0-4 years. One-on-One Tutoring Service
Would you like to learn to read or improve your reading skills? The Lewisporte Area Laubach Literacy Council may be able to help you. We are offering a one-on-one tutoring service. All materials are free of cost. We are also looking for more volunteers. LEWISPORTE AND TWILLINGATE
Effective immediately and until Feb. 29 the RCMP detachments from Carmanville, Fogo, Lewisporte and Twillingate will continue to conduct checkpoints in their detachment areas as well as joint checkpoints. If you want to report an impaired driver call your nearest RCMP detachment or call 1-800-709-RCMP. If possible provide the plate number and description of the vehicle and the identity of the driver.
The Postmedia Network and the Telegram's Raise-A-Reader NL have launched its second Literacy Grants Call. This call supports literacy initiatives with funding opportunities up to $2,000. Applications should show a commitment to increased learning opportunities for adults, children, and/or families. Raise-A-Reader NL will be accepting grant applications from community organizations until Feb. 29, 2012. The Canadian Cancer Society needs your help. As Easter approaches so does Daffodil Days. We need some great volunteers to help us sell fresh cut daffodils. You can help provide support to all the people of Newfoundland and Labrador by helping to sell daffodils. We need individuals and community groups to get involved with bringing these flowers of hope to our province.
