27th Annual Fantasy Auction

Grand Lodge Sessions
May 6 — Hyacinth Loyal Orange Lodge #88, Pansy Royal Black Preceptory #753 and Carnation Ladies Orange Benevolent Association #721 of Lewisporte have the pleasure of hosting Grand Sessions of the 140th Annual Grand Orange Lodge of NL, the 101st Grand Black Chapter of NL and the Grand Lodge of NFLD Ladies Orange Benevolent Association in Lewisporte from May 4 - 9. We will have delegates from across Newfoundland and Labrador as well as from other parts of Canada.
As part of the celebration we are planning to have a parade on Sunday, May 6. This would begin at the Orange Lodge (Main St. and Leyte Ave.) at 1:30 p.m., proceed to the Town Hall (for wreath laying), return back to the United Church for a service at 3 p.m. After the service (at approximately 4 p.m.) we will again line up and proceed back to the Orange Lodge. Family and friends of the “lodge” and the general public are invited to watch the parade and enjoy the church service. Lewisporte is currently the largest Orange Lodge on the island with a membership in excess of 50 and has a long tradition having hosted the Grand Lodge Sessions seven times in the past, the first in 1908 and the last one in 1996.
Red Shield Blitz
May 7 - The Salvation Army Lewisporte will be having our Red Shield Blitz (canvassing door-to-door) beginning at 6 p.m. Please support the Red Shield and help us to help others.
St. Matthew’s United Church
May 12 – There will be a Mother’s Day Dinner Theatre held at 7 p.m. Entertainment by Rev. Bill Colbourne and Freeman Pierce.
Baby Song Program
The Salvation Army Lewisporte is hosting a 10-week (April 18- June 20) Baby Song program. Baby Song combines music, singing and fellowship for parents and children ages 0-4years. Checkpoints
Effective immediately and until April 30, 2012 the RCMP Detachments from Carmanville, Fogo, Lewisporte and Twillingate will continue to conduct checkpoints in their detachment areas as well as joint checkpoints. If you want to report an impaired driver call your nearest RCMP Detachment or call 1-800-709-RCMP. If possible provide the plate number and description of the vehicle and the identity of the driver.

(NLLLC) is seeking individuals across Newfoundland and Labrador, interested in helping others reach their full literacy potential by becoming a tutor. Training provided! Or, if you or someone you know is in need of a tutor please call. All services are free.
