Extended Learning for Seniors
Our 50+Club members, along with other residents of our community and residents from neighboring communities have started enrolling in the computer classes that are being offered at the local Fire Hall to upgrade their computer skills. Classes started on Monday, May 14, under the tutorship of H.Glenndyn Necho. This program is funded by Human Resources and Skills Development Canada under the New Horizons for Seniors Program. The classes are free and the tutoring will consist of two hours of your time at each session.
One year from now we’ll be the tech-savvy seniors with so much computerized technology under our belts that we’ll probably be too smart for own good. Step aside, Bill Gates, because we’re movin’ on up and takin’ over the world of computerization. We’re on a roll! Gotta’ go and take something, to diminish this self-esteem that I’m suddenly experiencing. Too much for any one person to handle. As my grandpappy would say, “You’re gone off your rocker my son.”
