Lewisporte Public Library
The Lewisporte Public Library will be offering a summer reading program for ages 2 - 13. This program will be held every Thursday evening from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. There will be stories, crafts, games, prizes and more. This year’s theme is Imagine! Come join the fun!

Effective immediately and until Aug. 31 the RCMP detachments from Carmanville, Fogo, Lewisporte and Twillingate will continue to conduct checkpoints in their detachment areas as well as joint checkpoints. If you want to report an impaired driver call your nearest RCMP detachment or call 1-800-709-RCMP. If possible provide the plate number and description of the vehicle and the identity of the driver.

The 2nd Annual Canadian Cancer Society-Eastlink Telethon will broadcast live on Eastlink TV Dec. 2, 2012 from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. This telethon will raise funds to support the increased demand for our support programs and services, including items free-of-charge practical support items, emotional support groups, cancer information, and our largest support program, Daffodil Place. What can you do to help? We are looking for community groups, service groups, church groups, and individuals to host a fundraiser in their community for the telethon. Your group can be pre-recorded or appear live at the telethon to present your contribution. You can make a difference in the lives of people living with cancer in Newfoundland and Labrador!
