Stoneville Fall Fair
Oct. 13 - The Stoneville Fall Fair will be held at the Community Centre. Lunch will be served at noon. There will be games and face painting for children at 1 p.m. There will be preserves and baked goods for sale along with tickets on various items. Come out and support your community! Kinderstart Registration
Lewisporte Academy is holding registration for the Kinderstart program for children who will start Kindergarten in September 2013. Children must be four years old by Dec. 31, 2012 to register. Please call the school at 535-2115 or drop by the school office.
Baby Song
The Salvation Army, Lewisporte will be hosting a 10-week (Sept. 26 - Nov. 28) Baby Song program. Baby Song combines music, singing and fellowship for parents and children ages 0 - 4 years. CARMANVILLE, FOGO,
LEWISPORTE AND TWILLINGATE
Effective immediately and until Sept. 30 the RCMP detachments from Carmanville, Fogo, Lewisporte and Twillingate will continue to conduct checkpoints in their detachment areas as well as joint checkpoints. If you want to report an impaired driver call your nearest RCMP detachment or call 1-800-709-RCMP. If possible provide the plate number and description of the vehicle and the identity of the driver.

Take Back the Night
Sept. 21 – The Gander Status of Women Council will be holding a Take Back the Night March. We will meet in the Gander Women’s Centre parking lot for the rally at 7 p.m. The march will follow. General Meeting
Sept. 22 -The Gander and District Chapter of The United Ostomy Association welcomes the members to a general meeting at noon at the Masonic Lodge, Gander. The agenda will include a guest speaker, Deana King, a Convatec Ostomy representative, and World Ostomy Day Celebrations. A pot luck lunch will be served.
