In The Community listing is a regular feature in The Pilot newspaper and online (www.lportepilot.ca). Events within The Pilot coverage area being held by not-for-profit groups/organizations can be advertised in this section at no charge (for up to three weeks). To add your listing email the information to adsales@pilotnl.ca, fax it to (709) 535-8640 or drop off at our office at 151 Main St., Lewisporte.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Oct. 10 - The United Church Women will be having their Thanksgiving Dinner at 5 p.m. Come along and enjoy a delicious meal.

 

LOON BAY

 

Tabs

Oct. 24 - The UCW of Loon Bay will be ending their collection of all pop tabs/aluminum tabs (example fruit cups). If anyone has any they can drop them off to Madeline Elliott or Marie Dove.

 

Fall Sale and Afternoon Tea

Oct. 27 - The Loon Bay UCW is having their Fall Sale and Afternoon Tea at 2 p.m. at the Loon Bay Recreation Center. Come and enjoy an afternoon with friends. Admission at the door.

 

CAMPBELLTON

 

Flea Market

Oct. 20 - The Campbellton Community Center are hosting a flea market starting at 9 a.m. To donate items please callRose 261-2103,Evelyn 261-2726 or Gail, town clerk 261-2300. Soup, dinner rolls and sweets also available for purchase at the kitchen. Please come out and support this worthwhile cause and enjoy a mug-up at the same time!

 

Fall Sale and Afternoon Tea

Nov. 3 - The Campbellton Faith United Church Women will be holding their Annual Fall Sale and Afternoon Tea at the Campbellton Community Centre.  Doors open at 2 p.m. Homemade baked goods, preserves, craft and knitted items, and a good cup of tea and friendly faces will be available!

 

Campbellton Trotters

The Campbellton Trotters walking and exercise program will be held at the Campbellton Recreation Center every Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10-11 a.m. For more information contact Dorothy Chippett at 261-2463.

 

STONEVILLE

 

Stoneville Fall Fair

Oct. 13 - The Stoneville Fall Fair will be held at the Community Centre. Lunch will be served at noon. There will be games and face painting for children at 1 p.m. There will be preserves and baked goods for sale along with tickets on various items. Come out and support your community! Bring a friend … the more, the merrier!! Let’s have some fun and fellowship!

Children’s Programs

Oct. 11 – Rhyme Time for babies and toddlers 10:30 – 11 a.m. every second Thursday (caregiver required).

Oct. 18 – Story Time for three and four year olds from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. every second Thursday (three year olds – caregiver required)
