The Lewisporte Stadium will be the place to be May 14-15 as the second annual Lewisporte Marine & Outdoor Recreation Show exhibits a wide variety of exhibitors with products and services geared towards the boating and outdoor enthusiasts.
Growing on the success of the first boat show in 2009, Town of Lewisporte Recreation and Tourism director Derek Bennett is hoping for a great crowd to come out for the show that is expected to attract at least 2,000 visitors over the two days.
"We expect people will come from all over the province to see these exhibitors gathered in one place," said Mr. Bennett. "Exhibitors are coming from throughout Atlantic Canada with recreational products, RVs, boats, motors, related services, Newfoundland boat builders, artwork and more."
Event coordinator Sandra Mitchell said a full list of exhibitors can be found on the Town of Lewisporte website at www.lewisportecanada.com.
Mr. Bennett noted that with the growing interest in boating and sailing in this province and abroad, Notre Dame Bay is a hub for these activities. The hope is to grow on that connection and continue with the Show for years to come.
The hope is to also have an in-water boat show/demonstration (as was held last year) in June when the weather warms up.
The times for the show on May 14-15 are 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Saturday. For more information visit the Town website or contact Mr. Bennett or Ms. Mitchell at 535-2737.
