Ryan Selby Watkins of Summerford will be before the court on March 16, 2010 to be sentenced on three charges related to a May 9 incident that occurred on the Reach Run Causeway.

It was on this date that a 71-year-old Boyd's Cove woman died after her vehicle was pushed off the road into the water.

Both Watkins and Richard William Glibbery of Boyd's Cove were charged as the drivers of two separate vehicles involved in this matter.

On Dec. 17 Watkins pled guilty to dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, impaired driving causing death, and failure to stop at the scene of an accident knowing there has been bodily harm or death.

The Crown withdrew the charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death while street racing and failure to comply with the condition of an undertaking or recognizance.

On March 16 the facts and sentencing on this matter will take place at provincial court in Gander. He will remain in custody until that date.

Glibbery is set to appear in court again on Jan. 26. He is charged with criminal negligence causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, failure to stop at the scene of an accident knowing there has been bodily harm, and failure to comply with the condition of an undertaking or recognizance. Glibbery is not in custody.
