CAMPBELLTON -
Every Wednesday Pilot customers in Cambellton are happy to see their newspaper carrier Stacey Foss arrive at their doorstep. Even happier are the pets of those customers.
Twelve-year-old Stacey began delivering The Pilot last September. She is thrilled to have a paper route, something she has wanted since she was nine-years-old.
Stacey is one of those carriers who leaves a lasting impression on the customers along her route. Just ask her Nan, Gayle Foss.
"Stacey will go into a customers house and sit down for a cup of tea and a chat," she said. "I'm out in the van waiting and waiting and she's in having a lunch."
Stacey recognizes the effort her Nan makes every week in driving her around to deliver her papers, giving her money for gas each week. In addition, Stacey also buys dog and cat treats for her customers' pets.
"I have a lot of good customers and I really like seeing their pets each week," she said. "I love animals so I bring along treats for them. They're always at the door waiting for me."
The Pilot accompanied Stacey on a recent paper route and what she says is true. As soon as the animals saw her they knew a treat wasn't far behind.
Jackie Hill is one of Stacey's customers. Stacey spoke fondly of Ms. Hill's dog Zoe and couldn't wait to have her photo taken with the friendly pooch.
"Stacey is a very unique paper carrier," said Ms. Hill. "There's no one like her. She has a great personality and lots of energy, just like Zoe, which is probably why they get along so well."
Another customer, Mary Hillier, had more praise for her paper carrier.
"Stacey is very humorous, friendly and upbeat," said Ms. Hillier. "I look forward to her delivering the paper each week."
