While the matter involving Ryan Selby Watkins was set for facts and sentencing on March 16, it has been set over to a March 30 Provincial Court date.

The reason being that Watkins - who has pled guilty to criminal negligence causing death (street racing), impaired driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident knowing there has been bodily harm or death - is having charges he faces in Ontario waived to this province to be sentenced on. The specific Ontario-related charges were not discussed at the March 16 court date as the information is not before the court yet.

GANDER -

While the matter involving Ryan Selby Watkins was set for facts and sentencing on March 16, it has been set over to a March 30 Provincial Court date.

The reason being that Watkins - who has pled guilty to criminal negligence causing death (street racing), impaired driving causing death and failure to stop at the scene of an accident knowing there has been bodily harm or death - is having charges he faces in Ontario waived to this province to be sentenced on. The specific Ontario-related charges were not discussed at the March 16 court date as the information is not before the court yet.

The charges Watkins pled guilty to from this province are in relation to the May 9, 2009 street racing incident at the Reach Run Causeway where a 71-year-old Boyd's Cove woman died after her vehicle was pushed off the road and plunged into the water.

Also charged in this matter is Richard William Glibbery. He is set to appear in Supreme Court on March 30 as well, where a date for a preliminary inquiry will be set.

Glibbery is charged with criminal negligence causing death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, failure to stop at the scene of an accident knowing there had been bodily harm and failure to comply with the condition of an undertaking or recognizance.
