Watkins sentenced to seven years

In Provincial Court in Gander this morning (May 6) Ryan Selby Watkins, age 21, of Summerford was sentenced to a total of seven years on charges related to the May 9, 2009 street racing incident in which 71-year-old Henrietta Head of Boyd's Cove died after her vehicle was forced off the Reach Run Causeway and a robbery in Ontario in 2007. Watkins was given credit of two years for the one year he has served in remand, leaving him with a total of five years jail time to serve.

    7 Years for robbery and killing someone? Wow! What a kind judicial system.
