GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR -
A male resident of Norris Arm South appeared in provincial court in Grand Falls-Windsor on May 21 after his involvement in a disturbance on Goodyear Avenue in Grand Falls-Windsor on May 20.
According to Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP, three men became involved in a disturbance outside a residence on the street around noon and in the process a 52-year-old man was struck with a car. The man received significant, but non-life threatening injuries.
"The driver of the car (a 46-year-old male) was subsequently arrested without incident and held in police custody overnight," said Corporal Chad Norman of the Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP.
The accused appeared in Provincial Court on May 21 to face a variety of charges including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and breach of undertaking. He was released, but will appear in provincial court on June 28 at 9:30 a.m. in Grand Falls-Windsor to enter a plea.
"A second male involved in the altercation was also arrested," said Cpl. Norman. "He was subsequently released from police custody and does not face any criminal charges at this time."
An RCMP investigation into this matter is continuing and there is a possibility of more charges being laid.
