Keep “Cheering” on Lewisporte to receive funding in the amount of $76,280 for a track to encircle the current soccer pitch.
This is an effort of the Kinsmen Club of Notre Dame and the Lewisporte Lions Club in collaboration with the 2012 Lewisporte Come Home Year.
People are encouraged to “cheer” (vote) online for these projects. When a project receives a minimum of 225 “cheers” (selected as a number that demonstrates good support and the 225th anniversary of brewing in Canada) it then becomes eligible and well be evaluated by the Molson Coors Community Relations team. Voting at www.ourcommunitycheer.com has been extended to Feb. 17.
The minimum to qualify for consideration of funding is 225 Cheers and as of 9:42 a.m. on Friday, Jan 27 there was a total of 334 cheers for this project. With 225 cheers being the minimum to qualify for the next round, the more cheers above and beyond that will give the project even more weight when the final consideration by the Molson Coors Community Relations team takes place.
This is not just for residents of Lewisporte. People from surrounding communities and anyone who would like to see a running/walking/multi-purpose track in Lewisporte is encouraged to vote. Time is ticking away so voters are encouraged to log in and add their cheer as soon as possible.
