BOYD’S COVE – Police are investigating a man found dead floating in the water near Dunnage Island in Boyd’s Cove.

A call was made to RCMP Lewisporte at around 3:30 p.m. to report a boat near the island.

Police concluded the man, 86, found in the water next to his boat to be wearing a flotation device, and was the only occupant of the boat.

The man’s name is withheld until police can notify the family.
