Lewisporte RCMP have laid several charges as a result of an investigation from an incident which occurred in November of last year.

Lewisporte RCMP have laid several charges as a result of an investigation from an incident which occurred in November of last year.

On Nov. 11 a 68-year-old woman from Little Burnt Bay suffered serious injuries after being shot in her upper body by a moose hunter. She had been on a family outing in the Philpott’s Road area, just outside of Lewisporte.

A 36-year-old male from Embree has been charged with criminal negligence causing bodily harm, careless use of a firearm, breach of probation and several offences under the Wildlife Act.

He is scheduled for his first court appearance on Oct. 16 in Gander.
