Thanks to technological advances people can now become even more involved in the content of their local newspaper.

If you are witness to an accident, a fire or other event that The Pilot is not on the scene for, and you have your digital camera handy, you can help us get coverage of that particular event out there for our readers.

The Scoop with Coop - Thanks to technological advances people can now become even more involved in the content of their local newspaper.

If you are witness to an accident, a fire or other event that The Pilot is not on the scene for, and you have your digital camera handy, you can help us get coverage of that particular event out there for our readers.

These technological advances are also helping us to get you - the readers more involved in the paper as well.

Have you noticed the photo featured on the front page or those on the back page of this section of The Pilot (or in a photo gallery on our website www.lportepilot.ca)?

What makes these photos unique is that they are photos taken by you the readers.

The editorial staff at the paper is quite pleased with the response we have received to the Reader Photo Submissions. We put out a call for reader photo submissions and the photos just started pouring in.

We are looking at running a photo feature of photos sent in by our readers at least once a month, however if the photos continue to come in as they have been, we may look at running it by-weekly.

The photos for this section of the paper can be any picture you find cute or interesting and think others might enjoy viewing as well.

Boating and snowmobiling are two very popular pastimes for residents of this area, and these events also offer up some spectacular photo opportunities. Scenes that you might take for granted as you head to your cabin at Exploits Island might be quite remarkable to others who don't have the opportunity to take to the sea. Photos of wildlife on a snowmobile run to Mount Peyton would certainly be interesting to animal lovers and outdoor enthusiasts slike.

The possibilities are endless. Take a few minutes to look through some of your favourite photos and send them along, you never know it might find its way to the front page of The Pilot.

So as you head out to interesting places, take along you camera and send up those snaps!
