It's no trouble to tell what time of year it is in the editorial department at The Pilot as our calenders are quickly filling up with holiday events that individuals/organizations would like to have covered by the newspaper.
It's an extremely busy, but enjoyable time of year for us at The Pilot, as we have the unique opportunity of being invited to share in a wide variety of celebrations.
Anyone with an upcoming event they would like for The Pilot to provide editorial coverage of is encouraged to contact us at 535-6910/ e-mail editor@pilotnl.ca or psnow@pilotnl.ca as soon as you have your date and time set so we can schedule your event into our planning calender. We will do our best to accommodate everyone who contacts us, but coverage is based on a first-come, first serve basis. With just two editorial staff members working from the Lewisporte office we will make every effort to attend as many events as requested.
It's not just holiday-related events that you can contact us with. We'd also like to hear from you if you are doing something special for the holidays like a fundraiser or anything to do with the Christmas season that you think The Pilot readers might be interested in.
Please note that as much advance notice as you can provide is appreciated.
Also, The Pilot has a few reminders to send along to readers. First is that the deadline for Letters to Santa has been extended to this Friday, Dec. 4. Look inside The Pilot for details.
Also, to all clergy from churches within The Pilot coverage area, if you would like to send along a Christmas message (and photo if you wish) to be included in The Pilot we would need to receive those by Friday as well. You can contact Karen Wells at the number above, or send along your message via email to editor@pilotnl.ca or fax to 535-8640. Just a reminder that there is no charge to clergy to share holiday wishes with Pilot readers.
We also welcome any submissions from individuals with holiday photos or stories to share.
We look forward to hearing from everyone to help share the joy of the holiday season.
