Dear Editor,

Newfoundland and Labrador politics can be depended on to be interesting and never boring. For an example, the situation the citizens of Flower's Cove, Lewisporte, and the surrounding areas have found themselves in.

Dear Editor,

It appears that the Have that we have become as a province turns out that the more Have Not its people has become. We have a provincial government that campaigned on Open, Transparent, Accountable government which is materializing to be a mockery of the democratic process. The government of Dictator Danny is even taking the Information Commissioner to court to deny the office access to certain files. We have Ministers who don't want briefing notes so that there isn't an accountability paper trail. Just these two examples alone gives me the impression that this government is more Closed Doored, Ambiguous and Unaccountable since the Smallwood era.

Now back to the citizens of Flower's Cove and Lewisporte again. Minister (Paul) Oram's comments don't make any sense. First he stated that every community can't expect to have hospital services in their towns its not financial possible and that statement is true, however these communities that are losing their X-Ray and Lab services are not asking for anything new, they want to keep what they already have therefore at very little increase in cost, if any to the tax payer. Note: the tax payers in these communities and surrounding communities that utilize these facilities will endure the extra cost of travel and ambulatory services to get to a larger facility for their required medical needs therefore the increase in the cost of these services will be incurred by just the citizens of these areas instead of the entire provincial populace. What about the extra workload placed on the already over worked and stressed X-Ray and Lab services in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor. Second, he stated that he will not be dictated to, will Mr. Oram you are in the wrong business. Being dictated to is what politics is all about and the fact that Dictator Danny is running the show, been dictated to is and will be an every day occurrence for you and all of your PC caucus and staff. I believe its time for Dictator Danny and "I'm To Stubborn To Change My Mind" Oram to step back and realize we are an Have province now and it's time to threat its citizens as Have rather than a Have Not people.
