Dear Editor, I find it incredibly stupid that our Federal Government can fund a RCMP ride throughout the country, yet are willing to close down a search and rescue (SAR) centre in St. John’s and Quebec.

Dear Editor,

I find it incredibly stupid that our Federal Government can fund a RCMP ride throughout the country, yet are willing to close down a search and rescue (SAR) centre in St. John’s and Quebec.

To have to pay to see someone ride a horse, when in fact we pay a good portion of the whole RCMP service with our tax dollars is just another slap in the face of Newfoundlanders. It’s time this type of folly with our tax money be eliminated. Maybe with that saving we can keep the SAR where it is doing a much greater service.
