Soccer, softball, volleyball and arts and crafts are just some of the recreational activities on the agenda for the 2010 Summer Recreation program offered by the Town of Lewisporte.
Program registration will be taking place at the Lewisporte Stadium on June 29-30. Registration will take place from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and from 1-4 p.m. on both days. Parents must have their child's MCP number and registration fees.
The program is designed for children ages five to eight from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and ages nine-15 from 1-4 p.m.
"Children must have attended school this past year," said Recreation director Derek Bennett. "However, this year we will be holding an evening program, one day per week, for pre-schoolers. That will be held for children ages three and four and details will come at a later date. However, the parents will be notified through the pre-school when registration will be taking place."
There will also be registration held for Minor Soccer and Minor Softball.
"Minor Soccer registration includes children ages five-12 and it held Monday's and Wednesday's weekly, from 7-8:30 p.m.," said Mr. Bennett. "Minor Softball registration will include children ages nine-12 and 13-16 and will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings."
