In an effort to modernize its approach to work-related mental health issues, Workplace NL is initiating a review of its mental stress policy.
The review will take into account the mental health policies of other Canadian compensation boards and consultation with the Newfoundland and Labrador Federation of Labour and the Newfoundland and Labrador Employers’ Council.
Workplace NL will also review mental stress coverage in the workers’ compensation legislation through formal research and submissions. The deadline for submissions is Feb. 1, 2018.
The crown corporation is also partnering with workplace parties to develop occupational health and safety programs that support mental health.
