Terra Nova National Park gearing up to celebrate Canada 150
You can find lots of ways to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday this summer at Terra Nova National Park.
Firette president, Amy Porter (left) and Christy Janes took part in the skit night many years ago that had the audience in stitches. You will be able to see them back in action on the stage on March 24 in Brown’s Arm.
Brown’s Arm will come alive this weekend with the sights, sounds and smells of something residents haven’t seen in over 20 years.
Old-fashioned Fun For All Day celebrations kick off on March 24 with a night of laughter featuring residents, firettes and fire fighters testing their acting skills in a skit night.
During the event 50/50 tickets will be sold, door prizes available and someone is going to get a pie in the face, all in the name of charity.
The fun continues the next day with games for the young and young at heart at the fire hall. Ring toss, punch game, fishpond and more start at 10 a.m..
Lunch is served up at 11 a.m. and there’s sure to be something for everyone.
At 1 p.m. the outdoor games get underway (weather permitting). Three-legged race, snowshoe races and more will be played free of charge to anyone who wants to get in on the fun.
All proceeds from two-day event will be donated to the fire department for the purchase of new equipment.
