The event, entering is 32nd year, is the biggest fundraiser put off by the Foundation to support its Living Skills program.
It is scheduled to be held May 5 at the Kinsmen Centre, Lewisporte. Doors open at 6 p.m. for viewing with the auction beginning at 7 p.m.
According to Calypso Foundation manager Colleen Barrett, the Living Skills program doesn’t receive any government funding and depends on fundraisers like the auction to operate for 20 clients.
“Every little bit helps, big or small,” Barrett said. “We appreciate the tremendous support we get from the community.”
She is also thankful for marketing coordinator, Cindy Ings, hired through the Job Creation Program.
Once again West Jet has jumped on board in support of the auction with two tickets to anywhere they fly going on the auction block as well as four Disney Park Hopper passes.
First time donor, Mannings Bird Island Resort located in St. Brides has donated a two-night stay.
Items such as tools, clothing, home décor, prints, artwork, sod and appliances are just some of the things that guests can bid on during event.
There will also be a silent auction, games and finger foods courtesy of Brittany Inns.
Kane’s Ultramar has donated the door prize — a $200 gift card for its Lewisporte or Campbellton location, but the winner must be present at the auction in order to claim the prize.
Tickets for the Auction are on sale now at the Calypso Foundation and can also be purchased at the door.
