On March 24 the Brown’s Arm fire hall was alive with the sights and sounds of the first of a two-day Fun For All Day event. Fire fighters, Firettes and volunteers took to the stage to recreate some of their best skits from 20 years back when the first Fun For All Day took place. The weekend events netted approximately $3,400 for new fire equipment. Lewisporte-Twillingate MHA Derek Bennett was also on hand to announce funding for two new bunker suits and three new helmets for the department on a 90/10 cost share with the community. Brown’s Arm Wrestling Federation announcer Christy Janes (left) interviewed retired wrestling star Hulk Hogan (Sharon White) to see what kept him busy for the past 20 years as referee Carla Porter looked on.
The Miss Bay Wop competition featured popular islands and coves from around Brown’s Arm. Contestants dressed as their favourite place to impress the judges. Pictured are (from left) Jean Porter as Miss Dog Head, Pauline Tetford as Miss Channel 11 and Coralee Janes as Miss Louse Rock.
The local news was broadcast by everyone’s favourite news anchor, Edwardo (left) and his sidekick. They shared plenty of jokes and stories about people from the community, but it was all in good fun.
Some of the firemen challenged members of the Local Service District to a game of Family Feud. The firemen were victorious much to the delight of the audience.

Day two of Fun For All Day kicked off with games for the children at the fire hall. Lindsay Hillier tried her luck at the fish pond.
