Over $11,000 contributed for prostate cancer research and awareness

GANDER, N.L. – Forty-three motorcycles trekked the highway and over $11,000 was raised at Gander’s Motorcycle Ride for Dad.
The annual fundraiser is held in communities across Canada to provide funding for prostate cancer research and awareness.
Gander organizer and chair Terry Andrews says the Saturday, June 16 event was their biggest and most successful ride yet. The event began at the town’s Masonic Lodge and took the loop through Gambo, Musgrave Harbour and back again.
Upon returning to the lodge in the afternoon, lunch and prizes were provided.
“We had a really good turnout and the Masonic Lodge really stepped up to the plate and helped us out,” said Andrews. “We had great support from the business community in Gander and New-Wes-Valley as well.”
