Lewisporte-Twillingate area collects nearly 2,000 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child

LEWISPORTE/TWILLINGATE, NL - Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes from the Lewisporte-Twillingate area  were packed up and sent on their way to Gander on Saturday, Nov. 18, thanks to the contributions of local churches, schools, groups and individuals and the donated services of Armour Transportation Systems.

A total of 1,934 shoeboxes were collected from the region.

From Gander, the shoeboxes will travel to Ontario for processing and will then be shipped to the coast of Africa or Central America for distribution.
