TWILLINGATE, NL — Lori McCarthy lead participants on a seaside stroll to learn about local edible plants during the recent Twillingate Unscripted Festival.  

The journey culminated with a lunch cooked over a fire on the beach.

The menu included chanterelle mushrooms served on toasted homemade bread, moose smoke on juniper, fish stew, scones with strawberry, rhubarb jam and rose petal sugar. 

Who would have guessed you could have a five-star meal on the beach?
