Registered charities in the province can now apply for funding from United Way—just as Bonavista-based BayNET did last year, receiving $6,000 for the construction, maintenance and operation of a community garden.

And they were just one of 47 organizations to receive money.

United Way of Newfoundland and Labrador officially launched its annual call for applications for these Community Fund Grants.
