There were no injuries.

The Hibernia Management and Development Company (HMDC) reported to the CNLOPB that a tugger line contacted an emergency lighting fixture, knocking off the battery panel on the light.

“The front panel and four batteries fell to the drill floor from a height of approximately 54 metres,” according to a statement issued by the CNLOPB this afternoon.

The weight of the panel and batteries is less than two pounds.

The area on the rig was cordoned off, an inspection was carried out and HMDC is now conducting an internal investigation, according to the board.
