Nitrogen gas tank leaking outside MUN Medical School

One man has been taken to hospital for treatment after a 230-litre nitrogen tank fell on his leg while being offloaded at Memorial University.

His injuries are not considered to be serious.

The tank is releasing nitrogen through an emergency release valve.

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department is at the scene outside Memorial University’s Medical School.

Firefighters don’t consider the nitrogen to be a health threat and are currently just monitoring it.

MUN security officers are also on the scene.
