Rollover on Trans-Labrador Highway

A 63-year-old man from Pasadena walked away from a rollover on Route 510 with only minor injuries on April 25.

RCMP received a call about the single vehicle collision at 9:10 a.m. from a man who was taking the driver to the Cartwright Clinic.

An RCMP investigation into the matter determined the man was travelling on the Trans Labrador Highway and lost control of the truck 44 km south of the Cartwright Junction at approximately 7:15 a.m.

The truck flipped twice and received extensive damage but the driver was able to get out and call for help. He was treated for minor injuries and released from the clinic.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation however, the RCMP noted the driving conditions at the time were poor.  The RCMP would like to remind drivers to drive with caution on Route 510 this time of year as weather conditions change daily. Drive according to the conditions, slow down and carry a satellite phone.
