Still time to have your say

The hands of the election clock are winding down and on Monday voters will take to the polls to determine who will represent each district for the next four years.

This week’s edition of The Pilot is filled with a cross section of people, issues and concerns not only from the Lewisporte-Twillingate and Fogo Island-Cape Freels districts, but from across the province.

For some the newspaper will be the only political insight they receive prior to the election as not everyone is familiar with social media and online information. Others may not have been able to attend public forums due to work, illness or other commitments.

TC Media reporters from 11 weekly and two daily newspapers across the province teamed up to bring readers a variety of election coverage from candidate forums to public opinion to the issues that matter most to residents — it can be found in these pages and online at The Pilot website www.lportepilot.ca.

The website is updated daily with breaking news, campaign information and articles from people who want to see their concerns addressed by candidates.

Topics such as health care, transportation, safe drinking water, roads and more global issues such as Syrian refugees are the topics people are talking about.

The Lewisporte-Twillingate candidate forum heard from three youth in Lewisporte who are diligently working to see a youth center for the community.

People of all ages are talking and there’s still time to add your voice by commenting on the articles on The Pilot website www.lportepilot.ca, leaving a message on The Pilot Facebook page — The Pilot — or by writing a Letter to the Editor.
