CALYPSO AUCTION

Tickets for the 23 annual Calypso Auction are now on sale.

The tickets for the event went on sale Monday with only a limited number available. Auction coordinator Peggy Greene said tickets for the auction are being sold at the Calypso building on a first-come first-serve basis and with lots of great auction items and a door prize of two tickets anywhere in Canada Westjet flies, they aren't expected to last long. Ms. Greene also noted that as in previous years you must be present to claim the door prize.

There will also be two draws at the start of the evening, each for $100 in Calypso cash to be used at the auction.

Lewisporte - Tickets for the 23 annual Calypso Auction are now on sale.

Calypso manager Colleen Barrett said the donation of prizes for the auction has picked up quite a bit in the last week or so.

"Every day there are more items," said Ms. Barrett. "People have been very generous."

Ms. Greene said they have quite a few weekend get-away packages available this year.

There are also a number of packages including a cod fishing package, graduation package, gardening package and a Prince Edward Island package going up on the auction block.

Ms. Greene would like to remind people that although they will be accepting items right up until the day of the auction, the deadline to be included in the booklet is this coming Friday, April 25.

The auction is scheduled for Friday, May 9 at the Kinsmen Community Centre. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the auction starting at 7 p.m. For more information on the event, contact Calypso at 535-2604 or check Calypso's website at www.calypsofoundation.googlepages.com/home.

Both Ms. Greene and Ms. Barrett agree it will be an event that you won't want to miss.
