Crown attorney Jerred Moore noted in Provincial Court in Gander on Feb. 12 that more charges are anticipated against Dr. Rasheed Kadhem, and could be of a federal nature. He did not have further details pertaining to the nature of any additional charges. It was noted in the initial press release on Dec. 20, 2012 relating to the sexual assault charges that the police investigation was ongoing.

Mr. Moore did say the Provincial Crown would be proceeding by indictment on the sexual assault charges that were laid on Dec. 19 of last year against the doctor. The victim was a patient of Dr. Kadhem.

Dr. Kadhem was not in court on Feb. 12. A lawyer appeared on his behalf by phone. The matter will be called again in Provincial Court on March 26.
