Paying tribute to Second World War Veteran Robert Rose

On Nov. 11 Robert Rose, who resides at Pleasantview Manor in Lewisporte was surprised with a special Remembrance Day ceremony by residents and staff. The Second World War veteran who is 91-years-old was accompanied by members of his family and received a loving tribute from one of his daughters, Julie. As 617 Dambuster Squadron entered the family room, Rose’s eyes filled with tears as he stood to salute them. Pictured are (from left) Robert Freake, Andrew Freake and Rose.

Robert Rose presented CO Bernice Seaward with a donation for the 617 Dambusters Air Cadet Squadron and expressed his appreciation for the Remembrance Day ceremony.
Second World War veteran Robert Rose was pleased to have members of his family join him for a special Remembrance Day ceremony in his honour at Pleasantview Manor. Rose was also the founding president of the Branch 31 Legion in Lewisporte and has been a member for over 70 years.
