Beyoncé's childhood home in Houston caught fire on Christmas morning

Houston (KIAH) – Beyoncé's childhood home caught fire on Christmas morning, although the home's current occupants were able to escape unharmed, authorities said.

Firefighters in Houston were called to a house fire in the city's Third Ward. “The fire was under control in about 10 minutes,” said Houston Fire Department District Chief Justin Barnes. Houston Chronicle.

The family living in the home – a couple and their two young children – were able to evacuate before firefighters arrived.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

Rosedale St. The house, located in , was built in 1946, according to the Associated Press. The Knowles family purchased the home in 1982, shortly after Beyoncé's birth. They lived there until she was 5 years old.

Knowles also took photos of the property for her in September while he was in his hometown Renaissance World Tour.
